About Jade
The Full Story
Jade Nioma currently resides deep in the Sonoran desert with her husband, their two boys, and their cats. She has worked in rehab facilities, lock-down psychiatric wards, and on a specialized crisis team for those experiencing psychosis. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and prior to attending her first Master’s level courses, Jade pivoted toward her life-long dream of writing. She began writing in 2023, as a part of Nanowrimo, where she wrote Fate's Tether, her debut.

Fate's Tether was written as a way for Jade to process the domestic violence she endured for nearly 6 years. She wanted to use the novel to help bring awareness to DV, as well as to help survivors see that there is life after abuse. Jade hopes her writing will inspire others and show those who are struggling that their story is not over.
She is Korean-American and both of her parents immigrated to the US before she was born. Because of this, Jade is very passionate about immigration rights. She spent much of her childhood behind the counter of her parents’ small business and attributes this upbringing to her desire for an independent career.
She is a keyboard enthusiast (with a collection that is taking over her house), a delusional DIY-er, and an avid computer gamer. When Jade isn’t writing, you’ll likely find her curled up with a book, journaling, or devouring anime. She is almost always listening to music (from Megan Thee Stallion to Sleep Token to Trance EDM) and loves to make people laugh. Close to Jade’s heart is domestic violence awareness and mental health representation, especially after her own struggles with both.
